Webber International University Business Incubation Program
The goal of the Webber International University Business Incubation Program (WIUBIP) and its community partners is to facilitate successful business start-ups. WIUBIP coaches the progress of enterprising businesses so that it will become financially successful and eventually become a contributing employer in the community.
WIUBIP's clients are provided numerous business development services and resources to help ensure success and growth. The incubation process is a formal program that follows a series of strategic and tactical sessions. In the haven of WIUBIP's qualified staff, the client member will design a well defined business plan that includes marketing, accounting, financial management, logistics, and production processes. The stages will also lead to the acquisition of financial capital offered by investors in the community. Expertise and information resources are available for the company to utilize in addressing tactical needs as they begin the initial steps of business growth.
Regular training and workshops are presented to address the shared needs identified among many WIUBIP partners and clients. Graduation takes place when a client has reached a level of financial stability and are equipped with making their own business decisions.

WIUBIP staff is happy to serve all clients. The staff holds formal and informal coaching sessions with each client to assess strategic and tactical needs. They work with the client company to identify internal strengths and weaknesses that will capture the external opportunities present today. The advisors’ goal is to foster growth and sustainability by offering business and technical advise.
Assistance with budgeting, tax and reporting issues can be provided by appropriate Incubator-recommended organizations. Capital needs, possible sources for obtaining capital, time frame, structure of deals, and alternatives will be discussed by the company, Incubator management, the Advisory Board and other advisors as needed.
Keeping your business ideas your own is very important. The advisors and clients work together to devise strategies to secure client’s intellectual property. The advisor will also help to identify resources and/or professional assistance if needed.
The Incubator maintains relationships with local legal firms that provide some level of assistance and/or reduced rates for Incubator clients.
Individual Services
The WIU Business Incubation Program provides all clients with a business address, mail service, Internet connection, and conference/meeting rooms.
At the main campus clients have access to library, cafeteria, and gym facilities.
Shared Services The following services are offered:
- Shared office equipment (fax, laser printer, copier)
- Audio-visual equipment
- Other miscellaneous equipment
WIUBIP staff, professors, students, and other partners are all available resources to devise strategies that will generate revenues for your new business.Qualified students can be trained and serve as a sales staff for an extra fee.
In order to be eligible for consideration, an Incubator client should:
- Be a for-profit business in a high growth field.
- Have a product or service that can be commercialized within two years.
- Be in the early stages of business development.
- Demonstrate strong market for products or services.
- The office of the President/CEO will be located in one of the WIUBIP incubator locations. (unless virtual applicant).
- Have a basic business plan or a written description of a business and a financial forecast.
- Have a management team in place that can demonstrate an ability to handle both the technical and managerial aspects of the business and is willing to seek and accept assistance from the Incubation Program and its network of service providers.
- Be well-suited as a business to benefit from WIUBIP services, the business incubator environment, and WIU's technical and business expertise.
- Have the ability to pay the Incubator's monthly rental fee for the intended term of occupancy, or monthly service fee for virtual/off-site status.
- Have potential for positive economic impact on the community through: A technology, product or service deemed to have a high potential impact in the marketplace or community; Potential for rapid company growth and the associated creation of new high paying jobs; Positive impact on the tax base of local and state government.
- Agree to participate in the incubator's business assistance programs and to cooperate in achieving the incubation program's mission.
